Inner Teacher Intensive

Sunday, 9th of Feburary

Inner Teacher Intensive is for practitioners who already have a baseline yoga practice and are looking to deepen their understanding, refine their focus, and discover new depths of equanimity both on and off the mat.

Through long-held poses, we aim to still the Vrittis (fluctuations of mind) allowing us to experience our true seves, or Purusha (pure consciousness). Through a 90-minute practice you will be challenged to stay present and composed in the face of intensity and work skillfully with breath.

Description

In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the "fluctuations of the mind" are referred to as "vrittis" (Sanskrit: वृत्ति), which are mental fluctuations, thoughts, or patterns that arise in the mind. The goal of yoga is to calm and still these vrittis, allowing the practitioner to experience a state of pure awareness, free from mental disturbances, and to connect with their true self or Purusha (pure consciousness). In this Inner Teacher Intensive, we will aim to still the mind, allowing our inner wisdom and knowing the shine forth- accessing this state of pure consciousness within each of us.

Details

We will begin with a philosophical discussion, exploring teachings of the Yoga Sutras and uncovering how calming the fluctuations of the mind leads to lasting peace and fulfilment. Following this, we’ll do a 90-minute long-hold practice that will challenge you to stay present and composed in the face of intensity. Each pose becomes an opportunity to embody the teachings, quiet the mind, and reconnect with your inner stillness. The result is inner strength, clarity, and calm.

This workshop is designed for practitioners who already have a baseline yoga practice and are looking to deepen their understanding of yoga, refine their focus, and discover new depths of equanimity both on and off the mat.
